Iuli Ta Da! 2020
Fabrizio Iuli who runs Cascina Iuli, and identifies as a Barberista (a lover of the Barbera grape) farms his 30 ha of vines, spread over 18 different parcels each with their own terroirs and micro climates, but all prominently featuring limestone and other calcareous soils. The isolation of their vineyard also allows for Fabrizio to protect the biodiversity of his vineyards which have never seen the use of chemicals (with Fabrizio being the 3rd generation in his family to work the vineyard).
Several years ago Fabrizio tasted a bottle of a Loire Racine red wine in London. After trying the wine he found out the it was made by co-fermenting different red grapes and from there he began thinking of making a wine of this kind, by using the grapes of Cantina Iuli in a delicate way. Fabrizio will describe it as a happy wine.
Pinot Nero (35%), Slarina (30%), Baraticurat (30%), Grignolino (5%)
