Intellego Halagasha 2020
Intellego's philosophy is focused on employing the minimum amount of intervention during the winemaking process and they see their wines as a celebration of the hard work that they do in the vineyard. They refer to their processes as intuitive winegrowing, an evolution through experimentation on small pockets of land selected in the Swartland Appellation. Intellego’s true passion is the real work that happens in the vineyard with a hands-on approach, understanding seasonal influences and adjusting based on constant observation of the terroir.
“Halagasha” is the Xhosa (one of the official languages of South Africa) term used when celebrating the scoring of a goal in a football match, and this wine is an absolute screamer. Whole bunch fermented under semi-carbonic conditions for 8 days in stainless steel tanks and then transferred to 225L barrels for 5 months. It's then transferred back to stainless steel for 4 weeks before bottling.
